Volunteer Agreement
This agreement sets out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. It is not a contract of employment.
What We Expect From You
- To attend all required induction and training sessions
- To carry out your role reliably, attending visits and calls as agreed
- To treat all service users, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect and dignity
- To maintain confidentiality at all times, in line with GDPR
- To follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns promptly
- To work within the boundaries of your role as outlined in this manual
- To inform your coordinator if you are unable to attend a visit or need to take a break
- To represent One Step Counselling and Therapies C.I.C. positively
- To complete required records (session notes, timesheets) in a timely manner
- To never be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during volunteering activities
What You Can Expect From Us
- A clear description of your role and what it involves
- Comprehensive induction training before you begin
- Regular supervision and support from your coordinator
- Reimbursement of agreed out-of-pocket expenses
- A safe and supportive volunteering environment
- Access to peer support sessions and debriefs
- Respect for your time, skills, and personal boundaries
- Proper insurance cover during your volunteering activities
- A DBS check funded by the project
- Recognition and appreciation of your contribution
Code of Conduct
As a Steps Together volunteer, you agree to:
- Act with honesty and integrity at all times
- Respect the privacy and dignity of all service users
- Follow all policies and procedures outlined in this manual
- Not discriminate against anyone on any grounds
- Report any concerns, incidents, or safeguarding issues immediately
- Not engage in any behaviour that could bring the organisation into disrepute
Signing This Agreement
You will be asked to sign a physical copy of this volunteer agreement as part of your induction. A signed copy will be kept on file, and you will receive your own copy for reference.
