What This Means for You
- Treat every person with warmth, respect, and dignity
- Be open-minded and non-judgemental about different lifestyles, beliefs, and identities
- Use the person's preferred name and pronouns
- Be sensitive to cultural or religious practices (e.g. dietary needs, holidays)
- Challenge your own assumptions — we all have them
- Report any discrimination you witness, whether towards a service user or another volunteer
Accessibility
We strive to make our service accessible to all. If a service user has specific accessibility needs (mobility aids, hearing difficulties, visual impairments), your coordinator will let you know before your first visit so you can be prepared.
